چکیده

Scientific payloads onboard CubeSats usually have complex geometries and occasionally narrower allowed temperature ranges with respect to the rest of spacecraft. In these cases, capability correctly predict thermal behaviour payload once in orbit is mandatory. To achieve this ability, a balance test required identify model payload. The consists application different external boundary conditions together addition heat dissipation simulate load produced by active electronics during operation. Those experimental data are fundamental validate numerical make its predictions reliable. This paper presents configuration procedures performed on Demonstration Model be embarked each satellite HERMES constellation. compared results finite volume payload, proving method reliable for space analyses. obtained show jumps caused applied components. A weak correlation between interface internal equipment has been observed, thus that almost decoupled from Service Module variations. Based outcomes, some modifications design implemented, aim lower operative critical, temperature-sensitive equipment.

Finite Volume Effects in Thermal Field Theory

We analyze the effect of a finite volume on the thermodynamic potentials of a relativistic quantum field theory defined on a hypertorus at vanishing chemical potential. Using the symmetries of the Euclidean partition function, we interpret the thermodynamic observables as the expectation value of the energy-momentum tensor in the same theory living on a β×L2 volume. In the case where the screen...

A Cubesat Payload for Exoplanet Detection

The search for undiscovered planets outside the solar system is a scientific topic that is rapidly spreading into the astrophysical and engineering communities. In this framework, the design of an innovative payload to detect exoplanets from a nano-sized space platform, like a 3U cubesat, is presented. The selected detection method is photometric transit, and the payload aims to detect flux dec...

Band-monitoring Payload for a CubeSat Satellite

During changing sun activity, the ionosphere is responding accordingly and therefore it is interesting to observe the propagation behavior of shortwave bands. For the above mentioned purpose we have designed a bandmonitoring payload for an experimental CubeSat satellite. The payload consists of a receiver, which is able to receive SSB modulated narrowband signals in 28 MHz uplink band, and a tr...

Studying thermal effects of laser on tissue using implicit finite volume method

In this paper, thermal effects of laser irradiance on biological tissue is investigated using computer simulations. Earlier attempts in this field made use of finite difference and finite element techniques. Here a novel approach is adopted to improve the results. The effect of our implicit approach on the convergence procedure and accuracy of results, with different timing steps, is explor...
